However, in my 30's I came to appreciate the human body as a study in form and composition and as an embodied 'text' (Little, Anderson). In addition, my inclination is toward the softer aesthietics of the female body, as it conrasts well witht he hard, rectilinear aesthetic of the technological. However, in light of my largely mediated daily experience, I was motivated to consider my perception of flesh as embodied data (Hayles). This series of works experimented with disruption of the data body through the introduction of noise, the algorithmic/generative creation of an ambiguous figure, and the inscription of texts within the body itself. The process began with the scanning of various photographs in my posieesion, which were then composited and manipulated through algorithmic means until it lost a degree of realism that was desired. Each image is recursed an average of about ten to twenty times, and each image required about a 3-4 days to produce.
