The Nine Lives of Milo S. Fisher
Artists' study, Rapid Protoype Iron Bas Relief (2005, 2 Artist's Proofs)

The image of Milo S. Fisher, Performance Artist Cat, who appearedin many of my 8 Bits or Less work, and serves as one of the logotypes of same, reappears in investment-cast iron bas relief.

The image was obtained through the use of a Casio Wristcam wristwatch digital camera which has a very low resolution (120x120). This image was then adjusted and used to create a 3d model on which the image created a relief This resultant model was then "printed" using a ZCorp rapid prototyping printer. The resulting tile was then the form for a silicone mold from which waxes were then created, and then subsequent investment castings were made.

The final version of this piece will be a series of nine bronze tiles which will serve as a memorial to the life and work of Milo S. Fisher's body of performance art.

This series operates on a series of significations; it deals with with the evergence of the digital (the move from the virtual to the physical), challenges high resolution aesthetics, and inscribes the issues of materiality onto digital subjects.
