Bio
Carol Adams was born in Manhattan, Kansas in 1946, and raised in Rochester,
New York where her father had a veterinary hospital. She discovered
she was an artist in 6th grade when she did a painting at camp, where
she recalls it was like a calling. All her subsequent experiences
since have influenced the work in an endless mix of media, which she
sees as a variety of palettes Adams holds a BFA in painting, an MA
in Art Education (fiber emphasis), and an MFA in fiber, enamel, and
woodworking. Since then, she has mixed fabric, theatrical lighting,
lasers aluminum, chrome plated copper, neon, steel and many other
media. I live on eight acres in the Cuyahoga Valley south of Cleveland,
with a dog and a cat, where her studios reside in an adjacent barn.
Adams also produces a line of enamel animal jewelry, and teaches sporadically
in schools and various college projects. All of these enterprises
fit her basic philosophy of creating, sharing and supporting the arts
and artists.
