Glasshouse |

| 'The glasshouse' is a game / narrative that plays with notions of nomadicity/ emigration, and sets this in the context of the nature of the pda device itself as a mobile, intimate-space artefact. The work aims to query the positive cultural values attached to pda devices (and the benefits of mobility), and the somewhat more negative associations of emigration and refugee status. Interaction is through stylus tap and drag. | |||||
| Bio Peter Dukes is a UK artist who works in the fields of digital interactiv media, animated and constructed video, and conceptions of narrative systems and political spaces as mediated by technology. These interests are manifested through individual and group working practices to produce artworks exhibited in gallery spaces, online/distributed, and in performances. He is a member of the Nanostate group (http://www.nanostate.org/) - a visualisation and exploration of a non-geographical political entity. Notes: - 'The glasshouse' is for Pocket PC with Flash 4 player installed (devices eg Compaq ipaq / HP Jornada 5xx...) - it is designed on a scale and within the scripting parameters of PocketPC devices such as those mentioned above, but will also function on a desktop machine. |
