This piece, made as a final for the (Junoir/Senior) Computer Controlled Installations class, was a critique of the personal boundaries that are inscribed on the female body. The interactor would move their hands near one of the proximity sensors, the female torso would respond with any number of phrases. These include "Who told you that you could touch me!", "I like it when you do htat", and "Thanks for the support". In this way this piece challenged the interactor's relation to the gendered object, and questioned the position of the gaze and touch of the female bofy.
The piece used one Stamp microcontroller and a dedicated text to speech synthesizer. |
